COLORADO Tom Van Ness has rejoined Denver's Reece and Co. as a copywriter. He worked as a production artist at the shop five years ago, and most recently worked at KVO Advertising in Portland, Ore. Praco Ltd. Public Relations and Advertising has promoted Kristi Hayes from administrative assistant to public relations account coordinator in its Denver office. Strategic Medical Communications, a full-service healthcare communications firm in Denver, hired Catherine Behan as copy director. Behan most recently worked in the department of marketing and public affairs at the Colorado corporate office of Columbia/HCA. IDAHO Oliver, Russell & Associates, an integrated marketing communications firm specializing in interactive multimedia, advertising and public relations, hired Holly Escobar as a media strategist and buyer. The Boise firm also hired Kristy Stanaway as an account executive. NEVADA Quillin & Co. Advertising & Public Relations in Las Vegas hired Tracy Klusman as traffic/production manager and Jennifer Rice as a graphic designer. Klusman previously worked for Sidra Kain Advertising, and Rice joins Quillin from Mirage Resorts. The agency also hired Lori Feiro as an assistant account executive. She previously served as marketing coordinator at The Tower Shops at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, where she developed annual marketing and public relations plans and coordinated special events. Hands Ink Advertising in Las Vegas hired Jim Amstutz as vice president, creative director. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA The Stephenz Group in San Jose added senior creative director Michael Cruz, media director Judie Espinoza and account executives Laurie Stayton and Brent Baer. Doug Carson has joined Forbes Inc. in the newly created position of Western sales manager for Forbes Digital Tool, the company's daily online publication. He will be based in Burlingame. Dazai Advertising in San Jose named Craig Patterson vice president of client services. Patterson most recently served as vice president of account management for Winston Marketing and Communications, also in San Jose. Jim Coari joined the senior account management team of The Corsi Agency, San Francisco, as executive vice president and creative director. The appointment follows the agency's acquisition of Coari's shop, Jim Coari and Associates. Goldberg Moser O'Neill in San Francisco hired Kathy Silverthorn as associate director of accountability; Michael Fenech as interactive account executive; Evyn Zell as senior account supervisor; Laura Jackson as account supervisor; Douglas Barlett and Frances Hsieh as account executives; and Jennifer Cosgrove and Emily Goldstein as assistant account executives. AllApartments, a San Francisco company operating a rental resource Web site, appointed Sophia Kabler as vice president of marketing. GreenTree Nutrition, an online wellness center and superstore in San Francisco, appointed Samuel Salkin vice president of merchandising. Salkin is the former president and chief executive officer of Peet's Coffee & Tea. In addition, John Koenig joined GreenTree as vice president of engineering. OREGON Walt Burns joined Cole & Weber/Portland as a senior copywriter. The agency also hired Aaron Cooper as a senior account executive. Staccato Design in Portland hired Jessica Buell as an account executive. Robley Marketing added Sarah Badten as an advertising account coordinator. The Portland agency handles full-service marketing, advertising and public relations for several clients including Paragon Cable and the Danner Shoe Manufacturing Co. Eloise Boren joined TriAd in Bend as a production coordinator and graphic designer. Boren has 15 years of design experience, both as a freelance artist and with several design businesses. JohnsonSheen Advertising in Portland hired Kathleen Werres as a media planner/buyer and Jennifer Dalton as a media assistant. Werres most recently served as media director for Sullivan Pattison Clevenger, also in Portland. Photogroup, a commercial photo studio in Portland, hired photographer Scott Larson; Mike Neumann, who will work in creative digital imaging; and account executive Angela Follett. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Debra Lieberman-Martucci was named senior vice president/media director at Palisades Media Group in Santa Monica. Lieberman joins the entertainment media buying firm from the Los Angeles office of Media That Works, where she served as senior vice president/media director. Selbert Perkins Design in Santa Monica added senior marketing director Jon Woolsey; electronic media director/designer Andy Davey; senior designer Pilar Strutin-Belinoff; environmental graphic designer Connie Wansbrough; print, environmental and communications designer Clint Woesner; designer Deanna Paige Goodwin; and print and environmental communications designer Erik Miller. Young & Rubicam-Wunderman Cato Johnson Team Lincoln-Mercury has added several new employees. On the Lincoln-Mercury Dealer Associations account, based in Irvine, the agency hired Michael Lipchitz as vice president, director of field operations, and Ted Francisco as an account supervisor. Karl Shaffer was hired as associate creative director, also in the Irvine office. Marc Woollard joined as a senior art director working with the WCJ account team. Steve Patterson joined the agency as vice president, account director, and Tom Valasek as management supervisor, both on the Mercury brand team. Robyn Clark was hired as an account executive for the Lincoln brand team. In the agency's creative department in San Francisco, Kevin Murphy joined as senior vice president, regional creative director on the LMDA account. Lisa Pearson was named Los Angeles manager of Inc. magazine. Prior to joining Inc., Pearson was national advertising director for Meredith Corp.'s Golf for Women. Janice Levy joined KNX Newsradio's sales staff in Los Angeles as an account executive. Morgan Marketing & Public Relations in Irvine hired Kristine Briggs as an account executive. Briggs will be responsible for public relations planning and implementation for several regional accounts. She previously worked at Amies Communications, also in Irvine. Bev Oster, president of San Diego's Oster & Associates, has been elected 1998-99 president of the Advertising Club of San Diego. Oster has been a member of the San Diego advertising community since 1975. Michael Waters was appointed to the newly created position of executive producer at Bedlam in Santa Monica. Waters has primarily worked as a freelance producer for Dailey and Associates in Los Angeles over the past five years before joining the edit house. The company also hired T.G. Herrington for special projects and Chris Gernon as an editor. Other recent staff additions include senior producer Leah Welsh and assistant editors Chris Jackson and Andrew Hoeveler. Chip Pascarella was appointed director of production/sales at Encore Santa Monica, a full-service postproduction company specializing in commercial and music video postproduction and visual effects. Visual effects designer Cari Chadwick joined Editel/L.A. She previously worked at Encore Santa Monica and Hollywood, where she created visual effects for various commercials and TV shows. Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles hired Michelle Runzer as an assistant account executive. The shop also promoted Ginny Kollewe from freelance planner to permanent planner. Suzanne Krajewski was promoted from vice president/marketing, publicity and promotion to senior vice president/marketing, publicity and promotion at Twentieth Century Fox International Television and Worldwide Pay TV. Krajewski will be based in Los Angeles. Zoran Usoric joined Schraff Group in Newport Beach as an art director. Usoric relocated from Vancouver, B.C., where he was a freelance art director. Hollywood-based production company David Naylor and Associates signed director Hubert Bodner for exclusive commercial and music video representation. The Roxburgh Agency in Costa Mesa appointed Marina N. Butler to its executive staff. Alicia Soares was named director of public relations at Carole Eichen Interiors in Santa Ana. UTAH Euro RSCG DSW Partners named Dennis Glick a systems analyst in its Salt Lake City headquarters. Kristy Young joined the agency as an account manager. WASHINGTON Tyson Seafood Group, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods in Seattle, added Ken Wheeler as director of marketing for consumer products and John Robinson as business development manager for domestic business. Heather Davis joined The Columbian, a newspaper in Vancouver, as classified advertising manager. She previously served as advertising manager at the Santa Cruz County Sentinel in Santa Cruz, Calif. Cole & Weber/Seattle promoted Rebecca Armstrong to vice president/account supervisor. Arthur P. Merrick was promoted to president of The Rockey Co., a Seattle-based public relations firm. Merrick's previous title was vice president. Horton Lantz Marocco in Seattle added four new creative staffers: Angelique Little, account manager; Lori Hinton, copywriter; Angela Skeldon, designer; and Rob Christianson, designer and illustrator.
