New York-based Sudler & Hennessey, the healthcare communications unit of Young & Rubicam, has appointed chief financial officer Brian Harris general manager of worldwide operations. Harris has held financial posts at Young & Rubicam offices in Australia, Canada and England. Sudler & Hennessey has also tapped Barbara Renta as president of both North American operations and its New York office. Renta had been president of the U.S., Belgium and United Kingdom offices of NCI Advertising.
Della Femina/Jeary and Partners, New York, has hired Mark Fredricks, former associate creative director on the Merrill Lynch and Pfizer accounts at Bozell Worldwide, as vice president, associate creative director. The shop also promoted Elaine Pizzarelli to director, broadcast services.
Steve Farella, executive vice president, director of business development and integrated communications at New York shop Jordan McGrath Case & Partners, has been elected president of The Advertising Club of New York. Also named as officers were: Carla Loffredo, senior partner and director, brand communications, J. The Intuition Group, New York, has tapped Howard Roughan and Stephen Wille as partners, creative directors. Roughan had been vice president, creative director at Bates USA; Wille was formerly a creative director at Publicis, New York.
