FLORIDA Rod Caborn has joined Orlando's Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown as senior vice president of public relations. Caborn has served in marketing posts at Busch Gardens and Walt Disney World. YP&B has also appointed Mark Freid vice president and group creative director. Freid was principal and creative director of Trinity Design & Advertising for the Creative Spirit in Lafayette, La. Gary Bassell has been named president of Bates USA South in Miami. Bassell has been senior vice president and general manager of the office since 1997. The agency also promoted N. Michael Dudynskay to regional managing director. Gold & Associates in Ponte Vedra Beach has added Angela Gilboy as copy chief and Bonita Messick as traffic coordinator. WestWayne in Tampa has hired Gena Fowler as accounting coordinator, Jay Biernacki as media buyer and Laura Estes as media broadcast assistant. GEORGIA Sawyer Riley Compton of Atlanta has installed Rob Hardison as associate creative director. Hardison had previously worked at Price/McNabb in Charlotte, N.C. and Perich & Partners in Ann Arbor, Mich. The shop also advanced Joyce Alarc-n to media planner and welcomed Lori Woodard as billing coordinator. Grizzard in Atlanta has enlisted Carla Joye as a direct marketing specialist. The Headline Group in Atlanta has made three additions to its public relations staff: assistant account executives Carrie Bowden and Jennifer Taylor and account coordinator Nicholas Wolaver. Brighthouse, a "thinking consultancy" in Atlanta, has designated Anne Simons chief of staff. Previously, Simons was managing director of The Joey Reiman Agency for three years.
