LOS ANGELES English startup Mother’s fledging New York office has its first account, a project assignment from the National Basketball Association, sources said.

The NBA’s lead creative shop, WPP Group’s Berlin Cameron/Red Cell, has not produced any work for the professional basketball league in more than a year. Rob Florio, formerly of Nike and now with Mother, had been offered a job at the NBA before going to Mother, according to sources.

Neither Mother nor the NBA was available for comment.
