Entergy Corp. has zapped its "Don't monkey around power lines" safety campaign after 12 years in favor of a new series that launches today.
Each of Logan Marketing's three 30-second television spots ends with an electrical crackle as an unwitting customer connects with a high-voltage line. The segments address safety concerns after a storm, during construction and around the home.
The "Don't touch that" tagline was penned by agency creative director Sid Berger, and Morrison Productions shot the ads in 35mm film to create a "music video" feel. Logan creative consultant Gwynn Torres wrote the accompanying jingle and produced the spots.
The ads are Logan's first work for the New Orleans utility, which solicited creative ideas for the project from a half-dozen shops: Logan, Trumpet Advertising, Berning Productions and Rum Productions, all in New Orleans, and Dempsey Film Group and Thoma & Thoma, both of Little Rock, Ark.
The campaign will air in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
