Mohegan Sun Names Finalists

Mohegan Sun Casino has named four finalists in the review for its advertising business.

Deutsch, Boston and New York, Manhattan shops Cliff Freeman and Partners and Merkley Newman Harty, and five-year incumbent Mintz & Hoke, Avon, Conn., will make final presentations to the Uncasville, Conn. company. Not advancing were Holland Mark of Boston and Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, New York.

Spending on ads has been $7 million in each of the last two years, per Competitive Media Reporting. That figure is likely to rise substantially as the client continues to compete with casinos in Atlantic City, N.J., and in-state competitor Foxwoods Resort Casino, sources said.

Pile and Co., the consulting company in Boston, is overseeing the search, which should finish up next month.
