Sappiness No Match for Savings: Utility.com
LOS ANGELES–Anticipating lower overhead costs than traditional power providers, Utility.com hopes to attract customers by offering competitive prices for comparable services.
The Albany, Calif., company, which claims to be the first online electricity provider, has launched a $5 million ad campaign from Moffatt/Rosenthal, Portland, Ore. The effort includes TV, print, outdoor, interactive and direct mail. The theme is “Utility.com. Same electricity. Lower electric bills.”
One 30-second TV spot begins as a stereotypical “feel-good” utility ad, showing a precious girl befriending an oversized light bulb.
