The Dow Jones industrial average was down on Friday as market trading was mixed, but it was up 1.8 percent on the week as a whole to end at 10,139. Oil prices reached 21-year record highs, closing at $43.80 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on Friday and adding trepidation to the day’s trading. In advertising-related news, shares in Paris-based Havas closed at $4.93, up nearly 10 percent in trading on Friday. The holding company recently expressed a desire to purchase Grey Global Group.
