DETROIT Mitsubishi’s 2007 Eclipse Spyder is being introduced this week via a 30-second spot that embraces the convertible-seeking consumer.

The third-generation Spyder is a drop-top with a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system, which the television commercial highlights.

Filmed on an airport runway that is vacant save for a fleet of Spyders, to a narration of “650 watts, 260 horses, all in perfect harmony,” the cars move forward and backward in a loose tandem, shot to suggest the sliders on a mixing board, set to an anthem-like composition with a Japanese influence.
