NEW YORK MindShare North America has hired David Adelman for the newly created position of chief marketing officer.

New York-based Adelman previously served as media director at Johnson & Johnson’s global marketing group, where he focused on increasing digital marketing efforts and introducing communications planning processes to the company’s over-the-counter medicines, pharmaceuticals and medical devices businesses.

J&J was a major MindShare client before the agency withdrew from the company’s global media review in the spring.

In his new position, Adelman will work towards optimizing new business development, manage internal and external communications and help guide research and development to help guide the future of the WPP Group company.
