Wieden & Kennedy has been fired from Microsoft’s Windows business, effective June 30, the client said.
The Portland, Ore., agency retains corporate branding duties.
“We support [Wieden] but we need an agency for Windows that can better reach the IT customer,” said Jon Reingold, vice president of corporate marketing for the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant.
Reingold would not say where Windows will go, but emphasized there will be no review. Roster shop Anderson & Lembke, San Francisco, is first in line, sources said.
