The Michigan Department of Community Health is now accepting bids from agencies for a program to develop media campaigns promoting health. The account is worth $5 million annually.
Agencies interested in pitching the business need not be based in Michigan. Such hiring restrictions are prohibited by state law, said Maureen McNulty, press secretary for the Department of Management and Budget.
Responses to a request for proposals are due Oct. 31, McNulty said. The department expects to select an agency by the end of the year, she added.
Brogan & Partners in Detroit, which has handled the account for about 10 years, has survived several similar bid processes, said Bonnie Folster, creative director and partner at the agency.
