NEW YORK Following the addition of two global accounts, AstraZeneca and Roche, WPP Group’s Ogilvy Healthcare and Healthworld Communications Group have merged to create Ogilvy Healthworld.

Steven Girgenti, 59, will lead the new entity as global chief executive officer. He was formerly CEO of Healthworld.

The New York-based agency will provide advertising, clinical trial recruitment marketing, medical education and public relations to clients that include Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline and Wyeth. The company will operate in 30 markets worldwide.
