NEW YORK Havas' Media Planning Group (MPG) has expanded into Canada, the company said today.
Toronto-based Maxxmedia, a division of Arnold Worldwide Canada, has been renamed MPG/Maxxmedia. The change marks MPG's first official expansion into the country.
Maxxmedia president David Chung remains in his current role but will now report to MPG North America president and CEO Jim Rose. No change in management, staff or client responsibilities is planned. Media operations of Havas' Arnold and Euro RSCG have been consolidated under the MPG umbrella in recent history.
"Our corporate objective is to build unified 'best in class' media management agencies in the countries where we operate through the MPG network," said Rose in a statement. "We are proud of the growth and success exhibited by Maxxmedia over the past three years."
In the past 18 months, Maxxmedia has won clients like Audi Canada, Reckitt Benckiser and Universal Films (Canada), helping it achieve more than 30 percent growth during that period, according to the company.
