Media Contacts' Jones Upped to EVP

NEW YORK Louis Jones, the head of Media Contacts' U.S. operations, has been promoted to executive vice president for North America. In that role, he will focus on global product development and integration across the agency's multiple offices.

Jones said he plans to implement Media Contacts' Channel I platform, which is designed to standardize practices for the agency at a corporate level, particularly in the area of data collection.

Ed Montes, the former head of the agency's Boston office, will replace Jones as Media Contact's new managing director of U.S. operations.

Jones is credited with leading Media Contacts through three years of solid growth. "Louis has done a terrific job of growing the US operations," said Don Epperson, global CEO of Media Contacts. "We look forward to leveraging his talent for galvanizing teams and tapping into his keen knowledge of the network and its people to help grow the global organization."

Meanwhile, Montes has been on the fast track at the agency, which he joined in 2005. "Ed has made a substantial impact on our US operations," said Jones. "Since joining the organization last year, he has managed to engage our clients, our agency partners, and the entire Media Contacts team." Previously, Montes was director of special projects for the media, entertainment, information and finance group at Yahoo.

The moves at Media Contacts come a few days after the agency's parent company Havas reorganized its global media operations around the new entity Havas Media, which encompasses MPG, B6 Integrated Entertainment, Havas Sports and Media Contacts.
