NEW YORK WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia has hired Jon Hall in the new global post of managing partner, technology, business-to-business.

Hall's mission is to bring clients to the agency from the high-tech and b-to-b sectors.

Hall, formerly director, global head of technology at Dow Jones, will divide his time between MEC's offices in New York and London, reporting to Andrew McLean, president, global clients and business development.

Commenting on the hire, McLean said in a statement, "Other professional service companies have had a very effective approach in centralizing their intellectual capital and people resources, and we decided that the time was right to bring in a talented and respected individual to help us build in this area."

Hall joined Dow Jones three years ago as director of global accounts and rose to global head of technology in 2006, responsible for a sales and marketing team of more than 100 executives across print, online and international properties.

Prior to Dow Jones, Hall spent five years at the Financial Times Group in both London and San Francisco, where he headed up global technology services.

Hall said, "MEC is committed to delivering innovative and challenging communication strategies, collaborating with its clients to help them achieve high performance."
