NEW YORK -- FCBi, the direct and digital unit of Foote, Cone & Belding has hired Mark McLaughlin in the new position of president for the New York office, the agency said.
McLaughlin will report to FCB New York president Jeff Tarakajian and FCB Worldwide CEO Brendan Ryan.
Managing director John Pemberthy left the agency several months ago, the agency said. McLaughlin will work closely with FCBi ecd Heather Higgins
McLaughlin joins from Euro RSCG Circle, the direct marketing unit of Messner Vetere McNamee Schmetter/Euro RSCG, where he was managing director since 1998. That shop's clients include Amgen, Volvo, Intel, Worldcom, Philips, Evian, New Balance and Oppenheimer.
While at Euro RSCG, he helped launch of the Volvo S60.
In a statement, Tarakajian said, "Mark will be a key player in delivering best-in-breed capabilities to clients under [FCBi's] Model-of-One integrated marketing practice where key disciplines are brought together under one leader and one bottom line."
Earlier in his career, McLaughlin helped establish a company called Unicast, which created superstitials, an ad format for Web sites.
He has also worked at Hexagon Media and at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
