CHICAGO Plumbing fixtures manufacturer Moen has awarded its $10 million account to MARC USA, according to sources.

The independent Pittsburgh agency bested three other shops for the account: Omnicom Group's Martin/Williams and Interpublic Group's Campbell Mithun, both in Minneapolis, and Havas' McKinney + Silver in Raleigh, N.C. Moen's 12-year incumbent agency, independent Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago, did not participate.

Shops were asked to present strategic ideas centered on the North Olmstead, Ohio, company's longtime tagline, "Buy it for looks. Buy it for life," according to sources

Agency executives referred calls to the client, as did the consultant. Client representatives did not immediately return phone calls.

Moen spent just over $10 million on advertising last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
