McKinney Is Best at ShowSouth

McKinney & Silver took top honors at the Creative Club of Atlanta's ShowSouth.

A first-time entrant in the annual advertising, design and interactive awards competition, the Raleigh, N.C., shop won best of show for its Audi advertising.

McKinney also won silver awards in sales promotion for Miller Brewing Co. print work. All told, the agency received 39 gold, silver and merit awards.

"It's cool to win against Jerry Cronin [BaylessCronin] and Luke Sullivan [WestWayne]," said McKinney creative director David Baldwin. "They're all-world guys."

Long Haymes Carr in Winston-Salem, N.C., picked up three silvers.

WestWayne of Atlanta and Tampa, Fla., earned one gold, seven silver and 10 merit awards.

BaylessCronin in Atlanta scored three golds for its ESPN sales promotion posters.

Fahlgren in Tampa, Fla., took home a gold in sales promotion for client Five Ten.

In the design division, best of show went to Atlanta's 360 Thinc. The award was for a package design for Brookwood Trading Co.

The interactive best of show went to The Computer Studio of Atlanta for AnointedHands.com. Other interactive winners were Voltage Factory, Exile on Seventh and ComGroup, all located in Atlanta.

In the student division, the Miami Ad School won a gold among its nine awards. Atlanta's Portfolio Center received best of show in design and 31 additional awards, including four golds.
