NEW YORK A new spot from McDonald’s stars Karen King, the president of the fast-food chain’s USA East Division. Unlike most ads featuring on-camera appearances of corporate executives, the spot, created by DDB in Chicago, is actually visually interesting, thanks to a progression of shots that takes King from her present age back to her high school days when she first began working at the company. “You know those stories you have heard, a high school kid takes a job at McDonald’s,” she tells viewers as she gets up from a booth at the restaurant in the present.
