MC Direct, a $30 million direct marketing agency, has opened a satellite office in Dallas.
The office will be the fifth for the San Diego-based company, which also operates in Chicago; Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Virginia Beach, Va.
Supervisor Christi Watson moves from Costa Mesa to open the Dallas location. Since joining MC Direct two years ago, Watson has worked with a variety of clients including Bank of America, Nextel and Qwest.
Spokesperson Joe Connor said MC Direct chose Dallas because of the firm's specialization in high tech. Although the agency opens without any business here, "most of our current clients are pretty big players [in high tech] and we feel pretty good about 'Silicon Texas' in Dallas, Plano, Austin and Houston," Connor said.
MC Direct also operates two processing plants on the West and East Coasts. "That makes us different from a lot of medium-size agencies," Connor said. "We do our own printing and mailing—that's pretty much our unique position. We are able to meet the needs of these mammoth corporations with huge mailings because we have the resources."
Clients include Microsoft, 3Com, Intuit and Sage Software.
