Maseca's Treat: Dine With TV Stars

DALLAS Popular Spanish-language TV stars Adela Noriega and Mauricio Islas are the attractions in a promotional campaign for Maseca corn meal under the direction of Hispano USA, the shop said.

The promotion includes a sweepstakes that features a dinner with Noriega and Islas as the grand prize. Noriega and Islas were the stars of a Spanish-language telenovela called Amor Real (Real Love) that aired on the Univision network and drew the highest audience ratings of any series of its kind, the agency said. The soap opera, which aired in 100 countries, ended in the U.S. in March.

Using the tagline "El sabor de un gran amor" ("The flavor of a great love"), the campaign will include in-store redemption activities, the agency said.

The effort is the San Antonio marketing company's second for Maseca, based in Monterrey, Mexico. Spending was not disclosed.
