ATLANTA The Martin Agency has won a review for the advertising account of CoStar Group, the shop said.
There was no incumbent. The Bethesda, Md.-based company had handled its advertising internally. The eight shops contacted in the review were not disclosed, but the two finalists were Interpublic Group's Martin and the Washington, D.C., office of Havas' Arnold.
"CoStar is on a rapid growth path and we need to pursue several major initiatives concurrently," said Mark Klionsky, group senior vice president for the company. "After only a couple of meetings, it was clear that The Martin Agency has both the strategic and creative firepower we need."
Martin will provide all creative work for the company and will buy media for its Web advertising. CoStar will continue to buy media in trade publications.
The first work from Martin is scheduled to launch May 22 at the International Council of Shopping Centers convention in Las Vegas. Most of the subsequent work will be direct mail, Internet advertising and ads in commercial real estate publications, Klionsky said.
The company did not disclose its advertising budget, but said it will increase 25 percent over last year.
CoStar provides information services to the commercial real estate industry in the United States and England. The company is publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
