Mars Advertising is expanding its presence on the coasts. The Southfield, Mich., advertising agency plans first-quarter openings of satellite offices in New York and San Francisco. The offices will service existing clients and pursue new business in those locations, said Mark Ja-cobs, the agency's chief administrative officer.
The agency also has offices in Philadelphia, Columbus, Ohio, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
The New York office will be overseen by Melissa Misiak, who is transferring from Southfield and will serve as vice president, account director, brand marketing division.
Overseeing the San Francisco outpost is Siena Long, who joins Mars as senior vice president and director of growth and innovation, a new position. Long spent 13 years at Miller Brewing in Milwaukee, where she worked on brand and promotion development.
In December, the agency opened an of-fice in northwest Arkansas. That outpost provides suppliers of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores with account-specific marketing services. It is headed by Stephen Kruse, strategic business director.
Mars was recently selected by St. Louis-based Milnot Co. as collaborative marketing agency for Beech-Nut baby food brands. Billings were undisclosed.
