Starcom MediaVest Group’s multicultural media unit has promoted Elena Marroquin to vice president of the agency. As the Chicago shop’s director of strategy, Marroquin has led strategic planning for all of Tapestry’s clients, including Kellogg, Americatel, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. She began her career in Leo Burnett’s international division, serving as a liaison between the company’s U.S. media operation (which later became Starcom) and the shop’s Latin American offices. After briefly working on Procter & Gamble’s general market business, Marroquin spent three years on McDonald’s Hispanic assignment.
