Are young adults a bit too attached to mobile technology? In a Zogby Interactive poll, 83 percent of respondents said they favor making it illegal to type text messages while driving. Among the poll’s 18-24-year-olds, though, fewer than half (48 percent) favored such a ban. Nor is this a merely theoretical aversion to a nanny state, as 66 percent of 18-24s who own a cell phone have sent text messages while driving, vs. 16 percent of all cell owners.
