Entrepreneurs are a species unto themselves, but this doesn't exempt them from generation gaps. In a poll of small-business owners for Open from American Express, 72 percent of Gen Yers (age 18-29) said they like to take risks, vs. 53 percent of boomers. Gen Yers are also more apt to say, "Having fun is a priority in my business" (75 percent vs. 66 percent). Good thing, too, as 39 percent find it very difficult to get a vacation (vs. 26 percent of boomers). There's less of a technology divide than you might expect (see chart above).
