Add this to your “do people really care all that much about the environment?” file. Asked in a poll by the Nielsen Co. (Adweek’s parent) to identify the factors that most influence them in picking a grocery store, 9 percent of adults cited the store’s use of recyclable bags and packaging. Significantly more (14 percent) said they seek the store that’s the most convenient with “easy parking.” The top vote-getter was “good value for money” (60 percent), trailed by “better selection of high-quality brands and products” (28 percent).
