DALLAS Independent Makos Advertising, Marketing & Design has won the Lone Star Beer advertising account after a review, the agency said.

Makos in Austin, Texas, was one of five agencies vying to represent the 65-year-old brand that is part of the Pabst Brewing Co. based in San Antonio. The names of the other contenders were not disclosed.

“Makos impressed us with their focused approach and their knowledge of the brand,” said Craig Christenson, brand manager at Pabst.
