DALLAS A spot by Makos Advertising, Marketing & Design was named the Best National TV Commercial in the business-to-consumer category at the 2005 Automotive Communications Awards, the agency said.

The commercial, titled “Noise,” was produced for the Nascar Performance Network (NPN) and alerts consumers about the hazards of unperformed maintenance, according to Makos, an Austin, Texas-based independent shop.

“The overall campaign message is that unperformed maintenance is the problem and that Nascar shops are the solution,” said Mark Turner, founder and president of Makos.
