Sean Maher, Mekhi Phifer and Ben Gazzara have been cast in Storyline Entertainment’s remake of the landmark 1971 telefilm “Brian’s Song” for ABC’s “Wonderful World of Disney” Sunday movie showcase.
Set during the 1960s, the film tells the true story of the friendship between two Chicago Bears running backs, Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers, with very different personalities and backgrounds. A deep bond grows between the two players and their families as Piccolo is diagnosed with lung cancer and ultimately dies at age 26.
