Magfusion Hires Brodeur for PR

BOSTON Omnicom Group's Brodeur Worldwide has been tapped by Magfusion to lead its public relations initiatives.

"As we move forward into the critical stage of commercializing our products and growing market share in highly competitive markets, Brodeur's strategic counsel and deep industry relationships add value to our program," said Ben Naskar, CEO and president of Magfusion in Chandler, Ariz.

The agency's prowess in the micro-electronics field was a key factor in its selection, he said. The business was awarded without a review; the budget was not disclosed.

Magfusion was founded by Jun Shen and Chuck Wheeler in 1998 after a year of research at Arizona State University that yielded a patent for creating a tiny magnetic latching switch that works without requiring a steady supply of power, thereby helping end products such as wireless handsets to get smaller and batteries to last longer.

The agency will strive to position Magfusion as a market leader in its highly specialized field, said Brian Chapman, senior vice president and founder of Brodeur's Phoenix office.

Boston-based Brodeur, which specializes in handling PR for the tech world, recently launched a nanotechnology practice designed to aid clients in navigating communications issues in the up-and-coming field.
