NEW YORK The International Advertising Festival has named David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO, president of its Titanium jury.
Lubars, 47, joined BBDO last year, overseeing creative on accounts including Pepsi, General Electric and eBay. Prior to that, he was at Fallon in Minneapolis, where he was executive creative director. There, he worked on BMW Films, which won the first Titanium Lion in 2003.
In addition to the Titanium Lion, Lubars has won 17 Lions during his career in advertising.
The IAF's has recently revamped the Titanium Award category. Entries this year will be open to all types of advertising. There will be no minimum or limit to the type of media used in a campaign, and there are no budget or category restrictions. There is also no set number of how many Lions the Titanium jury will award. A Titanium Grand Prix may or may not be presented.
The International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France, will take place June 18-24.
