NEW YORK -- The Lord Group has won the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism account following pitches late last month, sources said.
The New York-based shop beat out CGN in Boston, The Zimmerman Agency in Tallahassee, Fla., Work in Richmond, Va., and DiMassimo Brand Advertising in New York for the $8-10 million account. The Lord Group declined comment.
The review, which was launched in July, was managed by Darien, Conn.-based consultancy Madigan Pratt & Associates.
The 18-year incumbent, O'Leary Clarke & Partners in New York, did not defend. The latest TV and print campaign from the New York agency broke in December 2000 and carried the tagline, "Relax at Cayman." According to CMR, the client spent $6 million in measured media last year.
