After another time slot-winning outing of "Weakest Link" on Monday, NBC ordered an additional 13 episodes of the hit quiz show hosted by Anne Robinson. Sources said the peacock also is firming up plans to launch a syndicated version of the show early next year.
Moreover, NBC and its rivals are continuing to hunt for new reality-show formats. The peacock, ABC and Fox were said to be bidding on the latest BBC offering, "Dog Eat Dog," described as a "Survivor"-style elimination contest involving physical and mental challenges.
ABC and others are also taking a look at "Challenge America," a project to be hosted by Erin Brockovich that would send contestants on a mission to complete a charitable or socially beneficial task in a short period of time.
