Martin Lindstrom, a brand consultant, columnist and author, has joined Boston-based Digitas as a senior vice president based in the London office.
He will provide strategic direction for clients including American Express, FedEx, Seagram Kingfisher and Morgan Stanley.
Lindstrom, 31, most recently served at BTLooksmart -- a joint venture between British Telecom, a Digitas client, and the Internet directory Looksmart -- where for three years he had been chief operating officer. While in his early twenties, he launched BBDO Interactive's European operations, which claimed Lego as its first client. Lindstrom's latest book, "Bricks, Clicks and Brands," was published last week in Great Britain.
He is signing on as Digitas is cutting loose 120 staffers, in a move announced last week, bringing job cuts this year to 200 worldwide and staffing to 1,600. The shop has been in talks with the Interpublic Group of Cos. about a possible acquisition or alliance, sources have said
