CHICAGO -- Lexmark Inc. is expected to award its $10-15 million account to LB Works here, sources said. The shop bested Fallon in New York, Work in Richmond, Va. and McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, N.C., for the account, sources said. It was unclear whether the incumbent, Ocean Group in New York, participated in the review.
Agency officials referred calls to the client. Roger Rydell, the Lexington, Ky., company's vice president of corporate communications who led the review, would not comment on any award.
Ocean Group absorbed the account in September 2001 after Lexmark's previous agency, Warwick Baker O'Neill, shut down. The shop's creative director and CEO John Short has handled the account since it landed at Warwick in 1999.
