After a protest by nonprofit rail-safety group Operation Lifesaver, Levi Strauss & Co. has pulled a Type1 spot from Bartle Bogle Hegarty that shows a woman and her horse flying over an approaching train. In an Aug. 7 letter to Levi’s chairman Bob Haas, Operation Lifesaver president Gerri Hall said the ad encourages risky behavior. Levi’s agreed to pull the spot, which broke last month, because it represents less than 8 percent of the company’s media, explained rep Amy Gemellaro.
