Conflict Rules
A recent News Analysis piece [“The More the Merrier,” July 20] about media shops signing competing accounts with few client complaints merits comment.
To state what I thought was obvious: Clients are the inventory of any advertising agency or media company and should not accept circumstances that are (for them) less than ideal. If they consciously weigh the pros and cons of a decision as to how they want their buys serviced, whatever decision is reached seems appropriate if they truly understand all of the implications.
For example, the article states that “clients have decided that clout is more important than an exclusive membership.”
