It’s said conflicting studies have left us confused about what we should eat. Ha! It’s more likely that some of us feign perplexity so we can keep eating as we please. A Harris Interactive poll asked adults to rate the healthfulness of various foods on a scale of 1 (“not at all healthy”) to 5 (“very healthy”). Just 1 percent rated cookies as healthy (giving them a 4 or 5). Also scoring poorly: potato/ corn chips (2 percent), cakes/pies/ muffins (2 percent), candy bars (2 percent), ice cream/frozen confections (4 percent) and shelf-stable meal kits (5 percent).
