Leonard/Monahan in Providence, R.I., was one of three finalists considered by The Washington Post Co. to promote its Web site.
Fallon McElligott Berlin in New York, which handles the client’s newspaper account, won the estimated $2-3 million Web business earlier this month.
In addition to Leonard/Monahan, Grey Entertainment in New York was a finalist, according to an official for the Arlington, Va.-based company. Incumbent Mezzina/Brown defended the account, the representative said.
Steve Sjoblad, president of Fallon McElligott Berlin, said the agency’s goal for its new client will be to “differentiate them in this morass of Web sites.”
