That dinosaur you spotted from the Bay Bridge isn’t a B-movie flashback, it’s an ad for Marine World Africa, U.S.A., Vallejo, Calif. The 14-foot dinosaur, seen crashing through a billboard, was designed by the theme park and agency Davis, Ball & Colombatto/S.F. to highlight a new mechanical dinosaur exhibit. William Kreysler & Associates in Penngrove, Calif., and Patrick Media Group constructed the dinosaur, which includes a 200-pound fiberglass head. Six versions of the billboard, constructed at a cost of about $10,000 a piece, will rotate throughout the Bay Area during the next two years.
