LeapFrog Opens an Outpost in Boston

BOSTON Independent digital shop LeapFrog Interactive said it has opened a Boston office. The agency, based in Louisville, Ky., also said it is spinning off a new venture, LeapFrog Small Business, to focus on that segment nationwide.

"Both these decisions constitute a big step for us," said Daniel Knapp, president of LeapFrog. "Opening the Boston office allows us to better serve and more aggressively pursue clients on the East Coast, in an area with a high concentration of headquarters for global brands. At the same time, the increased demand we are receiving from the small business market warrants spinning off an independent company."

Liz Hill, a 20-year industry veteran who helped grow the office of production house National Boston in the 1990s, will lead LeapFrog's local effort as vp, business development.

For now, the outpost will concentrate on client service and adding new accounts before a full-service model is attempted.

LeapFrog has handled interactive production, creative and Web software development chores for clients including Aleris, Brown-Forman, Tommy Hilfiger and Yum! Brands, among many others.
