Branding Veteran To Oversee Western Operations
SAN FRANCISCO--Brand consulting and strategic design firm Landor Associates has hired Tom Quarton as president of its western region and managing director of its headquarters here. He will report to Clay Timon, president and chief executive officer of the Young & Rubicam unit.
Quarton replaces Craig Brannigan, who served as managing director in San Francisco for two years before his recent appointment as president of Landor's European operations and general manager in London.
Quarton most recently served as president and chief operating officer of Cirque Corp. in Salt Lake City. He previously spent 12 years Procter & Gamble, serving part of that time as vice president of marketing for Vidal Sassoon hair care products.
"I aim to offer an informed perspective on the importance of branding, which has grown out of the range of consumer products and technology brands I've helped to build [over the years]," said Quarton.
"Tom exhibits the strong management and leadership skills needed to take Landor's western regions to the next level," said Timon, adding that Quarton will be directly responsible for the performance of the 200-employee San Francisco office, the largest outpost in Landor's global network.
Timon said Quarton will work on new business development, as well as strategy for the San Francisco office's existing clients, including Frito-Lay, Visa, Federal Express and Coors Brewing Co. He will also help manage Landor's 65-person Seattle office, which handles work for Microsoft, which Timon said is the agency's largest account.
