NEW YORK Nautica has selected Laird + Partners to handle its brand advertising, the fashion retailer said Thursday.

The New York shop beat out incumbent Toth Brand Imaging in Concord, Mass., and Lipman, Richmond, Greene in New York following a three-month strategic and creative review, sources said.

Media will continue to be handled by Nautica’s in-house media department.

Nautica founder, vice chairman and designer David Chu led the review process, sources said. Other key decision makers included vice president of marketing Anne Lacombe and Paulette McCready, president of the jeans division, according to sources.
