Mandelbaum Brings a Familiar Face to S.F. Office
SAN FRANCISCO--The addition of Joey La Cascia to the creative department at BBDO West in San Francisco marks another step toward the grander vision Tom Hollerbach and Ken Mandelbaum have for their agency on the West Coast.
La Cascia, 37, has been named vice president and associate creative director at the newly opened office. Formerly a vice president and senior art director at Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, he is the first major creative brought on board by chief creative officer Mandelbaum since the latter joined the agency this year. La Cascia worked for Mandelbaum before at the former Mandelbaum Mooney Ashley.
"Joey is a very capable art director, [and] an award-winning creative talent," said Mandelbaum, noting that LaCascia worked on Bugle Boy men's ads and Fisher Mountain bikes at the former Mandelbaum agency.
La Cascia will work at BBDO on accounts such as Pioneer Electronics and Kal Kan.
More additions are on the way for the creative department and throughout the 10-20 person office, said Mandelbaum.
"San Francisco is the creative epicenter of the West Coast," said Hollerbach, president and chief executive officer of BBDO West, Los Angeles. "Opening and staffing up that office is part of our vision to build a reputation as one of the best agencies on the West Coast."
Hollerbach added that San Francisco and Los Angeles are already working together on accounts such as Charles Schwab, and coordinating with the New York office on Visa.
"We want BBDO's offices to operate with a shared vision, and avoid the infighting [that often occurs] in other networks. Instead, we can focus together on achieving the same end result: the work," said Hollerbach.
