Born to Read Campaign Hits Newspapers, Airwaves in Vermont
BOSTON–Kelliher Samets Volk has crafted a multimedia effort promoting a program from the Vermont Business Roundtable that encourages parents to read to their infants.
The campaign strives to illustrate the importance of stimulation, communication and reading to children’s development, according to Tim Volk, president of KSV in Burlington, Vt. Volk also serves as a director of the Roundtable, a nonpfrofit group that includes representatives from 115 Vermont businesses.
Ads conclude with the line, “Born to Read,” which is the name of the Roundtable initiative that will provide free tote bags of books to all babies born in Vermont this year, as well as audio tapes of Where the Wild Things Are and videos with tips on reading to babies.
