DETROIT Kmart Corp. is targeting Asian American consumers with a supplement to its weekly advertising circular.

Kmart’s print partner, Meridian Advertising, Troy, Mich., and Alturas Communications, a Denver-based multicultural agency, created the new entertainment and lifestyle publication, which is called Tea Leaf.

The initial distribution of 300,000 copies of Tea Leaf will be inserted in Asian-language California newspapers in Fresno, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz and Ventura starting March 2.
