CHICAGO Independent agency Barkley Evergreen & Partners has promoted Jeff King to president, the shop confirmed.
"Jeff's new position more accurately depicts the full scope of his job responsibilities," said Brian Brooker, CEO and chief creative officer of Barkley Evergreen & Partners. "Following his arrival, Jeff has implemented a great deal of positive change. He is instrumental in shaping and aligning our company around the vision of inspired work."
In the position, King will oversee the agency's separate divisions, including public relations, interactive and sponsorship. He had previously been overseeing those duties as general manager of the Kansas City, Mo.-based agency. The shop had no previous president; Brooker had previously held those responsibilities.
Prior to being named managing partner last June, King was president of the agency's Atlanta office. He also helped found the shop's Three Wide sports sponsorship unit, which has since been folded into the larger agency.
