BOSTON Veteran public relations executives Lois Kelly and Catherine Lugbauer have launched a consulting company.
Kelly in the mid-1990s had been CEO of Interpublic Group interactive agency Thunder House; more recently, she served as president of technology marketing shop Meaning Maker. Lugbauer has been COO of IPG's Weber Shandwick, serving at the Cambridge, Mass., agency from 1994-2002.
Among Kelly & Lugbauer's first assignments is helping SeaChange, a digital video technology company, streamline its marcom operations and refine its brand position. The startup shop, located in Cumberland, R.I., is negotiating with two additional prospects and looks to target Fortune 1000 companies, Kelly said.
Kelly and Lugbauer are among several agency executives who have recently re-emerged as consultants. Others include Chris Colbert, former president of Holland Mark, whose company is known as one eighty; Bink Garrison, former CEO of Ingalls and Holland Mark chairman, who operates Bink Inc.; and Pat D'Amico and Kris Washington, whose practice is called Psynchronous Communications.
